Covering halal food standards?

Food standards include rules to be followed at many stages of production such as procurement, preparation, processing, classification, packaging, marking, control, loading, unloading, transportation, distribution and storage in the food chain in accordance with Islamic rules.

The Turkish Institute of Metrics has been conducting accreditation studies based on this standard since 2011. When we talk about Islamic norms in halal food practices, we understand the provisions of the Koran and the practices of the Prophet and all the rules God ordered for Muslims. Halal foods are foods and drinks that are permitted to be used in accordance with Islamic law. Food safety, on the other hand, means that the production of foods according to intended use does not harm human health.

How to prepare halal food standards?

During the development of halal food standards, TS OIC/SMIIC General Food Directives 1:2011 and TSE Product Certification Directives are taken as reference.

There are no internationally recognized and accredited practices yet. This creates difficulties in practice. However, in food-certifying countries, the General Food Manual established by the Institute for Standardization and Metrics in Islamic States is based.

In a matter that should be fully taken into account and understood, the label is given food to products, not to companies. For this reason, companies that certify and acknowledge that they will use food products with halal food certification are issued.

Some certification bodies are conducting a study on all food products provided to consumers today and creating some type of product list. Products on the market are identified by major food, cosmetics, cleaning and ingredients companies in these products. In the continuation of this study, what additions are found in each product and which sources are obtained. Upon completion of these studies, the demands of companies requesting halal food certification will be met in a very short time.

Some organizations that provide certification or consulting services require a commitment from companies that want to set standards for halal foods in their business, explaining that they wholeheartedly want them. The food market is a large and sophisticated market, and harmful people are not required to participate in this market. The Standard Assurance System manual must be prepared after benchmarking and working procedures and related documentation are completed. The content of this book differs from other quality systems guides.

What are halal food standards?

In different religions and beliefs, there may be certain red lines on feeding. Some religions or beliefs prefer food, while religions strongly prohibit it.

According to the Islamic religion, these concepts are halal and haram. The sanctuary is a food or drink that should not be consumed and should be avoided and represents appropriate halal food or drinks. Due to the fact that more than 1 billion Muslims live in the world, it requires a standard to inform these people about whether or not the product is a solution.

Moreover, the topic of halal food is not only in terms of Islamic religion. Before the Koran, the concept of halal food was with early people. Kosher standards applied by Jews in high-pitched terms are also in this sense. Halal food has an important place in the Torah. The "Taherder" stamp on Ottoman-era foodstuffs meant that there was no harm in consuming these foods.

For these reasons, the halal food standard, which was first used in Malaysia, has become more common. Halal food standards are the standards required to prepare the product according to religious rules at each stage of the farm to the consumer's table. In other words, halal food standards cover the production stages of foodstuffs of animal, plant or chemical origin according to religious rules of raw materials, additives, auxiliaries, ingredients, processing methods, operating and packaging conditions.

It is not known whether many additives used in food production other than pork are religiously halal. Additives are used to maintain consistency, nutritional value, flavor and the appearance of canned foods, to maintain long shelf life and prevent deterioration. Furthermore, eating meat from animals that are not polished according to religious norms is another problem.

As a result of these concerns, believers believe that new regulations should be put in place to determine whether the food they consume is religiously appropriate. Halal food standards appeared this way.
